I have recently become the proud Papa of a 1991 17' baby Outrage.

She's in excellent condition, but does have some oxidation on the snaps used for the mooring cover and several stainless steel and chrome plated parts. I have removed most of the cleats, snaps, etc. from the boat so I could clean the parts well and also check / clean the gelcoat underneath and re-assemble everything water-tight with 3M 4400.

Does anyone know a good cleaning solution that I can use to soak the parts and remove most (if not all) of the oxidation? Any other advice from those who have blazed this trail before me?

Thanks in advance for any help.
