I am going to look at a [1989 or 1990] Outrage 25 [with twin 200-HP Evinrude motors]. What in particular should I look for? I [know] little about boats. Asking is $20,000[.] [T]he boat is a little bigger than I want[.] [I]t just presented [itself], otherwise I was looking at a classic Montauk 1977 all original.

A classic Montauk 17 will fit in the rear cockpit of an OUTRAGE 25, so there is an enormous difference in size between these boats. Twin 200-HP outboards--probably older two-strokes--will suck three times as much fuel as typical Montauk's motor. And in order to haul an OUTRAGE 25 around on a trailer you need a truck in tip-top towing condition that can handle 7,000-lbs. So I would look at all of those considerations before jumping into the bigger boat.
The asking price sounds like a steal, if the boat is in any kind of decent shape, the engines run, and it has all the usual accessories.
