I have a Johnson model no. RK250 S/N 2341730 with electric shift. I believe this to be a 40HP engine. Is this correct? The engine will start but then dies. I believe the dying is caused by lack of fuel. At any rae, I want to put in new spark plugs. What brand, heat range, and gap should they be? |

John, I don't know what year you're referring to, but I have a 2000 Johnson 40 hp. Here is the plug info: http://www.championsparkplugs.com/results_appOther. asp?otherMotiveID=12531&mfid=2 |

His engine is very old to have electric shift in a 40hp(1960's). |
