Just to let everyone know - there is now a tool in the boston area available for through hull replacements.

I even have a small compressor if you need that too.

For those thinking of making the tool - if you buy the cobalt air chisel at lowes(20 bucks) it comes with one round chisel that will take the die without cutting the end of the chisel off.

I cut mine off so it flare more easily on an angle.

And I also did some experiments with trying flares with and without heat. Annealing the brass is pretty much a requirement for a good job.

I'm glad it worked well for you.

Yes, rule #1 for anybody attempting this is that one must anneal the brass to get a good flare.
