I put an el-gypo midship cleat on my Revenge last year and I will not live without. The Revenge was awkward as all get out to tie up to a dock before. It would just be crammend against the dock. I would like suggestions for cleats and rub strakes for the permanent intallation.

Picture of rub strake I would like to mimic.

I do not want to move the cleat. Walking around on the gunnel is how I get to the bow to anchor. Actually, I might just bolt the existing cleat in place. It worked and is kind of a low profile.

Do we know a brand name for the strake? John

Sue from Twin Cities Marine hooked me up with stainless rub strakes from "Taco". They match original equipment and are hollow back, I had found very pricey solid stainless strakes for a lot more. The benefit to the solid ones is less tendencey to "cut" down into the varnish when screwing them down. I wish I had gone to solid back on my teak pulpit as they cut into the Bristol finish a bit. I don't have a mid ship cleat , but 20' Revenges are a bit tough to get them on, on the gunnel they are so far back they are hardly mid-ship......Jack
