I'm hoping someone could point me in the right direction regarding a break in my fuel supply leading into the fuel rail (and on to the injectors). There is a small brass fitting at the top and bottom of the steel fuel rail, both having a nipple to accept fuel hose and a clamp. On the top brass fitting the nipple has broken free from the rest of the brass fitting. The entire fitting is only about 1/2" square. The nipple-to-fitting attachment is not threaded but rather a direct bond (solder or other); the fitting-to-fuel rail attachment could be a threaded connection, but I have not attempted removal as I don't know if it is safe to attempt. In researching the parts list available from Yamaha, this brass fitting is not listed as a separate part, rather the entire fuel rail at a cost of almost $400. Any Yamaha gear-heads out there who can shed some light on this? My alternative seems to be to replace the fuel rail which including "O" rings gaskets and injector removal according to my service manual. Seems like an awful lot of work and $$$$$ to repair the bond of a 3/8" fitting.
Help!
