I have a 13.25 x 19 Stainless prop on a DF70 Johnzuki mounted on a Vance setback bracket sitting on the stern of a 77 Montauk. When the motor was breaking in I messed with the height a bit.

This is where I am currently running:

I think this is a great combo, but am I loosing performance speed or economy? I don't have a GPS hooked up yet so I can't tell the speed. Something interesting has occurred, after about 20-hours the WOT changed from about 5,400 RPM to over 6,000-RPM (5,800 RPM max). I don't run the engine trimmed all the way down and can bring it up to about two inches showing on the tilt cylinder piston. Is the engine trim too high? How do I know if the propeller is slipping?

I was looking to change propellers in the future; now I am not sure. I was [considering buying either] the Suzuki 13.25x18 or 13.25x17 from TWC, as I expected them to get me to the top of the RPM range. Now I am not sure what to do?

You really cannot do any serious propeller evaluation without a way to accurately measure speed. First thing is to get your GPS installed.

Propeller selection is best discussed in PERFORMANCE. Please re-post there. (Just cut and paste your original article; I will remove this one.)
