I have an [1987] Montauk with a [2004] Johnson 90-HP. I am installing a Morse MT-3 control. I am looking at the control cables available. Are the TF-Xtreme cables better than the 33-Supreme Red Jackets? It appears the difference is that the red-jacket cables are universal and require conversion components on each end of the cable to adapt for my motor and control verses the Xtreme cables which are made with the appropriate ends for my motor and controls. I am told that a little slop may develop in the conversion components. Does anyone have any experience with this? I only want to do the once.

Thanks in advance.

Xtremes are just as good. Eventually, you won't see 33C Supremes anymore as Teleflex owns the whole enchilada.
