Members of Continuous Wave.I want to thank you all and especially Jim for hosting al the information on this site. I had to use a bit of information I have learned here after sucking up some gunk, in a brief encounter with a sand bar during my family vacation last week. All turned out well, I was able to self help, in large part to reading this board and learning from all of your experiences. Again thanks all! JohnL 1998 Outrage 23 Whidbey Island, WA

John--It is great to hear that the information collected here was helpful. There is a great collegial spirit among those who participate in sharing their knowledge of Boston Whaler boats and boating in general. |

I lurked here for about a year or so before I bought my first Whaler, a 15' Sport GLS. I remember buying the boat, sharing the news here with people I had come to know, and then taking the boat up to the Les Cheneaux Islands for a week of fun. The second day, the motor quit. (It ended up being a power-pack). This was 4th of July weekend, no local mechanics around/available and where did I go? CW - you guys helped out so much and though it didn't save my vacation, it sure made handling the disappointment a lot easier since I knew what was "probably" wrong. It only gets better.... |

Saying that this website has had an influence on my boating knowledge would be an understatement. In the six years I have been hanging around this place I have:1)Bought a new Whaler 2)Bought, restored and sold 3 classic Whalers. Without the reference material, advice from participants and answers to questions here I would never have attempted such projects. 3)Re-powered all 3 restoration boats with 3 different brands of brand new engines. 4)Have privately been in contact with many people here and have built a friendship with them. I even had the chance to meet participants in person (like Tony) from 9 timezones away. I expect there will be more in the future. 5)I have persuaded at least 5 friends of mine to buy a Boston Whaler boat that now also find valuable information here to help them with their problems. Yes, I can actually say that CW has played an important part of my life, when it comes to my favorite hobby, these past years. Erik |

Have to agree, this site is a great source of info and even if you couldn't find it here, the answer was usually just a question away. |
