westcoastwhaler	posted 10-06-2008 03:32 PM ET (US)         I have a 1988 15' Super Sport Unlimited that I will be replacing the steering cable on. Does anyone know the length of the Teleflex cable for this model boat?
wezie	posted 10-06-2008 03:44 PM ET (US)             on the old cable, if you have it, should be a long series of numbers and letters. This describes the cable, type and length. The cost of a new cable is almost the cost of a kit including a new helm. no wheel. Good Luck On the Teleflex site or in their literature, is a chart for calculating the length if you do not have the old one.
westcoastwhaler	posted 10-07-2008 12:23 PM ET (US)             Are the numbers stamped on the engine side of the cable or at the helm or are they on the cable itself? I have replaced teleflex steering systems before and I agree that replacing the kit is the way to go.
