I have stripped the wood pieces in prep to apply CETOL. I followed the stripper directions and finished the last coat with steel wool and paint thinner. There are lots of black dots..kinda look like mold spots that have appeared on the wood that was not there before. Do these go away with CETOL application or do I need some other type of cleaner/ sanding before application?

It's not a good idea to use steel wool for wood that's exposed to water, since little bits of the wool break off in the grain, and then they rust. I'm not sure it that's the cause of the black spots, but it could be. |

Try to use the copper pads next time, sounds like a mold in the wood, try a lite mix of bleach...good luck |
