I may have asked a similar question, but I would like to explore an alternative course here. Is it possible to replace the clamp-on part of a 30-HP Evinrude with an OEM BIA-pattern bolt-on part? My 13 has holes for the BIA bolt pattern, and I'd like to use them. I know an alternative would be to do a setback bracket, but I am wondering if I can replace the clamp assembly with a bolt-on assembly. Perhaps I could pick up that piece from a junk motor (if it would bolt on in place of the original) ?

Nope!
Yourbest bet would be to find a CMC PTnT setback bracket. New about $550 used about $300. This would solve your dilema and give you PTnT. Not sure if the PT35 will do what you want but the PT130 will.
