Does anyone know what type of hydraulic fluid I need for my 27 Walkaround?

There's several, check the steering system manufactures site, it's probably a fluid that comply's with Mil-spec,
mil-5606.

Hydraulic steering fluid is not specific to the brand and model of boat. It is specific to the brand and model of the hydraulic steering system used. Most of the time the OEM rigging on a Boston Whaler boat would have used a Teleflex hydraulic steering system.

FYI,

I had to reseal my steering cylinder a few months ago and was looking for a substitute for the $15 fluid. I had a few bottles of plain old ATF around and it's working great. Steering feels great with no leaks from the helm or cylinder.

I know it's not the official fluid however on a 13 year old boat I was willing to give it a try.

pw out.
