I recently took delivery of a sweet Outrage 22, but it needs some things. One of the first things I need to tackle is a swim platform to get back into the boat. I've searched for related threads on this topic but have essentially come up with a blank. If there is a thread that I missed on here that details the proper method, please let me know. Otherwise, what is the proper method of installing a swim platform on the transom of my boat? Thanks! Derek |

I just posted pictures of a swim and ski platform that I built for our Outrage 18. Take a look. Robert |

While they are not great views, you can see a couple of shots of a swim platform mounted on the transom of a Boston Whaler OUTRAGE 22 in the Reference Section article on trim tabs. See: |

Robert, I looked for the picks but couldn't find any. Could you post a link? I'm really looking for an overview shot. Jim, thanks for the post. I'd really like to see an overview shot to see how the different planes are dealth with as well as the hardware used, available areas in the transom to accept a lag screw/bolt. Ronniet, Thanks! |

Hi mo I've no pics but if you don't want it or its not what your looking for you may return it!As a matter of fact I trust that MOST fishermen are honest and you can pay me if its what you want when You receive it. All the stainless is in fine shape, as for the hardware its just some 2 1/2"-3" standard nut's and bolts.I will send them as well, but I would buy new,Including some rubber gaskets/washers. I will try to post some photo's[camera is on the fritz}.It may be a day or two though. Ron |

Derek I don't know if this will help or not. First of all if you have trim tabs, I would hope that they would be Lenco's edge mounts. Lenco offers the shortest actuator to accomplish a reasonable positioning of the platform without radical surgery of it or an unorthodox positioning of the tabs or the platform. Think ahead before you drill. Think about your transom D ring and how you attach your hold down strap. My platform is thru bolted on the inner side and lag bolted on the other. Bottom support rail is lag bolted and top grab rail thru bolted with all tread stainless rod. There is a embedded wood backer on the inside. This link should tell the rest. Jerry |

Very nice! If I could just see a picture from a birdseye view to show how you dealt with the (for lack of proper terminology) "notched" transom, that would be great! I couldn't tell if you scribed the wood to conform to the transom or if you shimmed with a piece of teak. Ronniet, Thanks! |

On my 18' Outrage, the platform was shimmed with a thin piece of teak to conform to the transom shape. |

Derek Shimmed. If you look closely at the pics you will see the varnished shim block. You should also see in another pic the top of the actuator bracket peeking out. |

I see it now. I had been looking for a piece of teak directly between the wooden swim platform and the transom instead of between the bracket and the transom. Great idea. Thanks! D |
