I am re-powering a 1986 project 13-foot Whaler. The engine will be bolted to the transom. What is the recommended height of the [anti-ventilation] plate, from the bottom of the boat if you put out a straight edge from the bottom to where the anti-ventilation plate would be? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks Russ

What kind of motor are you putting on there? Both motors I had on my 13 were basically all the way down on the transom and it worked well. Those hulls are very sensitive to the motor's trim so I would err on the side of too low versus too high. Not sure what others do. D |

With a clamp motor you don't have much of a choice but al the way down. If not it might twist with a gap underneath and you want the clamps to bit but they are not that strong. |
