Nauti Tauk	posted 05-13-2009 05:11 PM ET (US)             It can certainly be done. Use the search function and you'll have plenty of info. I have a 170 Montauk with a 55# Minn Kota on the bow. Works just fine and I didn't remove the rails.
Ablewis	posted 05-13-2009 08:44 PM ET (US)             It was no problem on my [1990] Montauk. I mounted it on the starboard side of the bow. It lays outside the railing and hangs slightly over the front of the boat. If you would like a picture I could e-mail it.
froberts	posted 05-16-2009 10:37 PM ET (US)             nauti tauk has a great set up. The 55 minn kota works well and will clear the bow rail by a few inches. His pictures were very helpful and was also able to email me with detailed directions on how he put the motor on the bow. Thanks for all the HELP Nauti Tauk
