Hi everybody. I may install a bilge pump in my Boston Whaler ALERT 15 classic. The best place and lowest point in the boat is just in front of the transom, but this area is small. I think a small pump will fit in there. Has someone already done such a job? Send me some recommandations. Cheers, |

Hi Edward. I made a cover for the recess in front of the spash well. Then I used screws to fix the pump on the cover. Pics on this link. I hope they help. Alain |

My 15 came with 500GPH Rule-Mate automatic pump mounted on Velcro right down in the sump. It is a self-contained unit - no separate switch needed. Tim |

I added an automatic pump in the sump on my Sakonnet (sold a few years ago). It was an Attwood 400 GPH pump. I did not attach the pump to the sump. It fit very snugly in the sump. I switched it with an existing on/off switch. While using the boat, I pulled the switch to provide power to the float. If enough water was in the sump, the float switch would activate the pump. The pump was supplied with another lead for off/on/auto operation, but I never found it necessary to add the 3 way switch. I hope this helps out. Doug Vazquez |

Thanks guys.... I actually loved the idea of mounting the bilge pump on a piece of wood which is cut out to fit exactly in the small compartment in front of the transom.... Take care amigos, |
