On my 26 gallon [TEMPO] on-deck fuel tank I noticed today the gasket that goes under the fuel gauge and fuel outlet is crumbling. [TEMPO] went out of business three years ago. No parts any more. Where can I get that gasket? Moeller Marine make a 26 gallon tank but parts are not interchangeable. Don't want to buy new tank! This is on a 17' Mountauk. Help!

Is this a TEMPO tank? If you have a TEMPO tank:
Moeller purchased all TEMPO products and intellectual property in 2008. At the time, the company stated that they planned to market both TEMPO and MOELLER branded products.
You may wish to contact MOELLER to see if they have additional information on the merger/ and takeover, and if there are parts available for your TEMPO tank.
At the very least, MOELLER either has New, Old Stock Tempo Products, or they sold it to a marine wholesaler. They should have that information where you might be able to track down that old inventory.

If you can't get an original replacement you may be able to make your own from a sheet 1/8" neoprene available from Mcmaster Carr.

How old is your Tempo tank? I have the same tank which is now two years old and have recently noticed the beginnings of the crumbling, i.e., the edges starting to crack. I know it is a matter of time now.
