Has anyone had any recent experience with the newer style of Sea Shock mat? It is made to reduce shock on the legs and seems to make sense for center console boats like Whalers.

They have been redesigned and I am considering one, just hoping for some feedabck before I buy one

Thanks

A few years ago, I ordered a Sea Shock mat. After 6 months of waiting, I finally received the mat. By then, my boat was out of commission for a repower, and I left the mat in the shipping box in my garage. A year later, I decided to use the mat and pulled in out of the box. It was a mess! Then outer shell was completly seperated from the inner material. I called SeaShock and they admitted problems and blamed supplier and manufacturing issues. I sent them a few pictures, and they said a replacement would be sent. I waited about 3 months, and finally received the mat. It has been in my boat for about 16 months now is is holding up fine. I highly recommmend the mat and yes, it does a great job taking the "shock" out of our rough Hawaiian waters. My feet would sort of fall asleep prior to the mat, and now it is very comfortable to jump around in bad water. Good luck!

I have one of the mats in blue. They were running a demo sample sale for $99, and it's fine. It really helps a great deal, my legs and back take much less abuse now, and boating is more fun. The width is perfect for my 1990 18 Outrage with leaning post.

They are great. I stand on one 10-12 hours a day. I can't see over the bow while sitting in the helm chair. They are worth every penny.

You might also want to check out Sea Dek, they are not as thick but very comfortable to stand on.
