Ok, I can't figure this out. I've got a 1999 30hp Yamaha 2 stroke, 3 cylinder outboard that will not idle without constantly engaging and disengaging the choke. It works great at all other RPM's. I'm trying to sell the boat, and not being able to idle the engine is really hurting my efforts. I've already replaced the spark plugs and rebuilt the carburetors. What else could be causing this? |

choking limits the amount of air and increases the fuel ,,so your fuel starved,,something is still plugged or blocked |

It runs fine once you up the throttle. What does that tell us? |

Fuel, air, follow different paths at different throttle openings. Idle circuit blocked somewhere, mixture screws need adjustment,or replacement, possibly throttle plates not fully closed at idle. MartyD http://pic100.picturetrail.com/VOL583/4074976/20014503/375359115.jpg |

Fuel pump diaphragm may have a pinhole. Is the motor remote or tiller? brian |
