pauly	posted 10-07-2009 04:19 PM ET (US)         I have a 1995 rage. It is 14ft. The Jet motor is gone. Fiber glass work is done. I have a 86 40hp evenrude. I want to put it on. The motor is a 20 inch, the transom is 24 inch. Can I use a jack plate? Do I cut transom 4 inches and mount the motor? How is the boat going to handle? How big can I go with the motor size? Is the 40hp to small?
