The previous owner of my Whaler drilled many mounting holes in the floor. I have these filled in, but they still show and spoil the look of the boat. I’m thinking of covering the floor in Dri-Dek tiles. I’m interested in reports on how it holds up over time, and tips on fitting. Do you recommend using Dek bond to hold it down? Are there any downsides? Steve |

I had it in a Montauk for the 3 years I owned her and year 4 and counting in a Outrage 17. Here is a good thread on install. http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/006341.html http://continuouswave.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/017244.html Some of my photo links may be broken, if more photos are needed, let me know. I've read to avoid white because it will get mildew and stain. Most people lay it down with out bonding and want to remove it occasionally for clean underneath it. It's good stuff, I have some gray that's still flexible after 25 years. |

My Montauk has been Dri-Deked for 12 years. It's white tiles and they do mildew a little. I pull them once a year and and scrub with a brush and Comet. Chuck |

That's good news about the white Chuck, read that comment on another forum. Can't believe everything you read and some folks don't how to clean. Bill |

I had previously installed it on my Nantucket...looked nice and did a good job of protecting the non slip decking...but biggest problem and the reason I removed it was it trapped dirt, dust and all matter of grime under the dri-deck creating a preally pretty pattern of dirt under the added decking, and made it nearly impossible to clean up real good. To do a good clean up, you had to remove the added decking...so I removed it and just wash the anti-slip decking and left a few pieces in lockers and in the CC.But its your party.... |
