64nauset	posted 01-30-2010 11:25 AM ET (US)      The Eastport seat ordered from Nautical Lumber came in recently, and I have a question: How far forward of the motor well is it supposed to be? It may depend on tilted-up engine clearance, and at that point a matter of personal preference. If there is a specific factory distance, I would like to look at that before drilling any holes. Since this is an upgrade to a Nauset, there are no indications on the hull for placement, at least none that I know of. I thank Mr. Stennett for the precision build and beautifully finished mahogany. I appreciate craftsmen out there willing to support these old Whalers (shameless plug). bruce
DanT	posted 01-30-2010 12:39 PM ET (US)             On my 1966 Eastport the back edge of the rear seat plank is 12.5 inches from the front edge of the motor well.
