Suggest a ski pylon for a 1984 Montauk 17.

I have seen it done with a tall six-foot ski pole behind the driver's bench seat, and three cables to the lifting eyes to support the pole. The cables attached near the top of the pole. I did not get to see how the pole was attached at the bottom, but the cables are definitely carrying the bulk of the load. It seemed to work well, they were wakeboarding with it.

Thanks, but would rather have something more factory looking

Heard that [Swivel- Eze--apparently a brand] makes [a ski pylon] but I don't know which one to use or how it mounts

You want the Swivel-Eze model # 903-009-S.

This uses a large round base plate that the pylon threads into. The arms would reach back to the transom and through-bolt there.

This is a super strong ski pylon that is very easily removed when you're not waterskiing.

DO NOT tow inflatables with it.

There was a post within the last couple weeks regarding a bracket which mounted on the existing outboard bracket. Looked like a great product, minimizing interference with your motor and keeping your deck clear.

If anyone has an installation of a swivel-eze on a Montauk 17; I would love to see some pictures.

I have always wanted one, but really would like to see how it fits and looks.

Thanks in advance.

Not a Whaler but sort of close... My 1980 Wahoo 16.2 Striper with Swivel-Eze # 903-009-S:

I also have a 2005 Montauk 170 that I have ordered a Turboswing for. I will post some pic's when I get it and do the install. I have a spare Swivel-Eze # 903-009-S that I was going to use for the 170; but decided to go the Turboswing route. Let me know if your interested in buying it.
