When I re-powered my old Katama with a new 60 HP Mercury engine, I installed a standard binnacle Merc single lever control. While it doesn't allow starting unless the shifter is in neutral, I'd like it to have an automatic neutral safety lock, which would prevent inadvertant shifting into gear. Does anyone have or know of this type of control, either from Mercury or Teleflex? Part numbers and suppliers would be appreciated.

Believe you may be referring to a neutral lock release/throttle interlock. Those are usually found on side mount controls. Teleflex has had it as an option on their CH7500/7600 top mount controls.

Thank you. I did see the Teleflex ones on their website, wasn't sure if it was the right application.
