Can someone tell me what the proper Boston Whaler logo size would be for my 1973 Boston Whaler 19? I failed to measure them before my restoration.

I did write down that they were located 15" from the rear of the cap. I assume that was the factory location. Any information on the location would be appreciated as well.

Thank you in advance.

The logo on my 1973 Whaler 19 are located 2 1/2" from the rear cap at the bottom of the logo. The overall size was 28" in length and 6" tall.

I would also appreciate knowing if my logo is correct as they are coming off in a few days as my boat is going to the painter on Wednesday...any other questions before she goes?

I am sure my questions about your refit will pick up in a few weeks after I get it back from being painted.

The logo size and location shown here are guaranteed original factory. There are other photos in the album that may help out also.

Bookmark the album and you should be able to get many of the original details you are looking for.

The logo's on Larry's bost is definitely further away from the stern and also larger than my logos. I guess my logos arnt original.

Larry..I would love to see close-up pics of your bow light and detail on the rubrail around the light.

I look at your album often Larry - that boat is an amazing piece of history. Forgive me if I cannot tell from the picture but do you know the length of that logo?

Also do you have any close up detail of how the rubrail receiver is cut at the rear corners of the boat. I was thinking about a miter cut but from the picture you just showed I am not quite sure that's whats going on.

I take it back, Larrys logos look smaller than mine

Thanks, Ray and Scott. I was over to the boat this morning, and the logo is around 14" long (didn't have a tape with me). I'm sure Magic Brush would know the exact sizing.

I'll take a look at the rubrail details tomorrow. If I recall correctly, when I replaced the original red insert, I did it exactly as the factory had done it. At the bow light, I think the backing ribs are cut out, so that it lays flat to pass under the chock lip

At the stern corners, the receiver was mitered (if you enlarge the photo 100%, you can see it), and then rounded (sanded) off a bit, and then the insert has the back ribs notched out at 45 degrees, to make a 90 degree corner.

I'll have to confirm.

Larry.. I know you will be providing more details and pics on the rubrail, but I am going to jump the gun and ask one question now....are the rubrail and receiver each installed as one piece, that is no cuts other than for backings thinned out and portions of the receiver mitered but still left as one continuous piece...(am I clear in what I am asking)

Thanks for the info Larry - I look forward to the updates! I will call Magic Brush today and get the logos and registration numbers on order.

A '73 19'OR should have a 14" logo according to my records, and LHG, what happened to your registration mark? Spotted it missing right off...

So, some interesting things I notice here. The logos on the 19 are the same size as on my 1976 17 and I believe on my 1975 13. Yet my 1976 has the Registered Trademark ® while my 1975 13 did not and it looked like Larry's 1975. I know the logos on my 17 and 13 are the original. So, 1976 must have been the first year for that mark.

Also here is a 1969 Currituck I surveyed a month ago with the original logos. No ®

Also, Larry it seems your logo is the same logo as the rub rail as is mine on my 1976. This is means the logo is a darker red color which has more blue in it than the later logos. I have found that these 70's logos are close to PMS 202C (as well the rubrail) while the later logos seem to me a brighter red which is likely PMS 485C (most common red using in logos today).

Scott I would recommend you have the Reg #'s done in black over gold. You while not a law, you really should stick with black for these. Then if you have a name for the boat I would do that in gold over black.

Here are some shots of mine on the Newport. The color combo looks very nice with the red rubrail.

Thanks for the tips Jeff. So being an early 70's model I should not have the trademark, good to note.
