I have a 1988 Temptation 2200 with Whaler Drive. [I think all TEMPTATION outboard models have Whaler Drive configuration--jimh.] Underneath the rear seat there is a section of floor approximatey four-feet by three feet that I removed to gain access to the fuel lines. There is an access panel that I remove on occasion to remove water from this area. There is water saturated foam in there. There is water that is getting in there. I think this might have been a fish well for the OUTRAGE. Could I just remove foam from this area? I was thinking of putting a pump in there. |

In the hull liner molding there was a recess for a live well. I think you are correct that in the TEMPTATION models this was not retained as a live well, and it was filled with foam and covered. If the foam in that area is wet, you probably will not have much success in drying it out. You might consider boring a hole in the foam to the bottom of the live well, being very careful not to drill through the hull liner underneath the foam. You might be able to use this hole as a well from which you could extract water. Other TEMPTATION owners will probably have better ideas. |

When I replace the fuel lines on my Temptation 2500, I discovered that some of the copper lines ran through this section. I also discovered that there was water/oil/gasoline for about the first three inches of that foam. I removed the foam with the intent of putting a small bilge pump in there, and adding a hatch to the deck above in order to use if for some kind of wet storage. But because the rear seat of the Tempation lifts forward, it is really hard to gain access to that space. All in all, it is probably better to just remove the amount of foam that is saturated / contaminated, and put new, fresh foam in its stead. --- WhalerAce |

THERE IS A AXCESS PANAL THAT I CAN REMOVE , IT IS A ROUND APPROX 6INCH COVER THAT CAN BE PRYED UP, I AM ABLE TO SUCK UP THE WATER FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE BOAT. I WOULDN,T REPLACE THE FOAM UNTIL I CAN DETERMINE THE SOURCE OF THE WATER INTRUISION. I WAS JUST WONDERING IF THERE WOULD BE ANY PROBLEMS LEAVING THE FOAM OUT FOR NOW THANKS FOR ALL THE RESPONSES |
