Hope everyone is staying healthy and having a great season! Finished mounting the CMC trim plate and engine yesterday. Measured the distance between the engine cavitation plate and the bottom of the hull and it's about 2". If the engine is too high, I can bring it lower (2 ea. 1" adjustments remain) . Any suggestions before an initial sea trial would be helpful? I haven't installed the rub rail yet. I want to install the bow light assy (see pictures). From a correct factory installation, does the light sit flush with the deck with the lip touching the bow? Modification info to the original is appreciated as well. Still looking for a helm seat, any help? Thanks for all the great forum information, such a great source! http://picasaweb.google.com/gff1961/EngineMeasurements?authkey=Gv1sRgCPPKutKhssO2NA&feat=directlinkJet Wrench

The bow light sits flush on the deck but the rub rail goes on first so that the lip of the light hangs over the rub rail. |

I have installed the exact same cmc on my nauset, I too have just about 2 inches difference in the cavitation plate,It runs just fine with no washout on turns. I too was concerened so i contacted CMC and they told me that that is how they are designed, with 6 -8 inches of setback (depending on motor)There should be no cavitation as the water rises aft the transom. I have a post of my recently completed 1970 nauset, you can see how i have done it. Good luck! |
