I have an classic OUTRAGE 19 that has twp plastic pieces on each side of boat on the sides. One has sattered [shattered?]; the other is cracked. Is that a custom part?

There are a lot of people that can help answer your question on this site but you need to be more descriptive or better yet add some photos. Once that is done you will get accurate information.

This could be a new game...like "guess the part".

Lets see...a plastic part on each side but in someway part of a plastic gas cover..hmmmm

I have stripped my 19 Outrage to the bare bones and am putting it back together right now and I am stumped

If it is an I/O then my guess is the louvered air vent covers which you can probably buy anywhere. If outboard...gonna need a pic.

This is a clear smoked plastic piece that covers the [fuel] filler hose and vent. It is about two-feet wide and goes from under the top cap to the [deck]. There is one on the opposite side as well but [I] don't see a function for it.

It would be a custom part. (at least I have never seen such a part before on a 1970's 19" Outrage)

I may very well have the most factory original, unmolested, 19 Outrage in the world (I found it stored unused for 30 years), and I don't have a clue as to what component you are talking about, unless it is used on one of those 19's that have the oval cutout interior gunwales, which my boat does not have.

Photo number 51 shows the original equipment plastic cover, located under the stern cross bench, that conceals the fuel tank fill hose and water separating filter. The tank vent hose is under a similar cover, attached to a teak board, on the forward port side, nowhere near the filler cap.

By looking at my photos, you may be able to pick up many of the original details.

My 1973 19' Whaler has a white (not smoked, possibly pvc) part that is original and similar to the one you describe. It is fastened between the cockpit floor and the aft bench seat where the fuel fill hose and the fuel hose from the internal tank to the engine comes up through the cockpit floor. Its purpose is to cover up these hoses for better visual appeal. It is not structural. There is a piece of similar material on the port side of the boat about 2/3 of the way between the stern and bow. That piece covers the fuel tank vent hose that runs from the front of the internal fuel tank, through a channel (the channel is covered with a 4" x 14" piece of plastic of similar material) in the cockpit floor to the port side of the console, forward about 14" and connects to the fuel tank vent fitting. The purpose of this piece is to cover the hose for improved appearance. Other than those three plastic pieces I have no idea what your cracked pieces could be from.
