Has anyone made one out of this material? I bought a 1/2 inch sheet to make an electronics "shelf" out of, and thought a 1" thick piece could probably work as a seat in the back. |

I actually have one already made that I recently removed from my 1988 Montauk. It was made by a man in Eastern NC in the 90's. I replaced it in favor of the classic teak backrest. Any idea what the value of this might be? I could be interested in selling. |

I have seen interiors of sports made with 1" starboard. They all had a "leg" in the middle for support because they flex some. No biggie but thought I would add that. |

I had a 1998 17 Standard with the OEM stern seat made of starboard. In addition to the middle support, the seat had a stainless steel pipe screwed to its bottom surface the entire length of the seat. I don't recall the thickness, but it wasn't 1". It also had a pale yellow tint after a couple of summers in the sun. |

I am in the prosses of making a seat and back rest for my standard 17 using 2 12 inch pannels 59 &5/8inch long that i bought from Lowes will use hinges to connect and fold down for sun deck. Had to buy 6 foot panels which they cut free. plan to locate 11 inch high plastic milk crate to use under seat for support. |
