cc378	posted 10-22-2010 02:01 PM ET (US)      The time has come to repower my 1972 13' whaler with the 15" transom. After looking at all the options my plan is go with the transdapter from KentFab to bring the transom to 20"and to buy a leftover 2 stroke Yamaha 25 ELR. Does anyone have experience with the Yamaha 25 ELR? Is it a good motor? Thanks
Tohsgib	posted 10-22-2010 02:09 PM ET (US)             good motor, reliable, not the strongest being a 2cyl and no PTnT. Should be able to find a 15" for that model and save on the transom. For what that kit costs, you could buy a 4 stroke in a 15" shaft.
contender	posted 10-22-2010 07:45 PM ET (US)             I purchased a manual one (25hp 2 stroke Yamaha 2008 15 inch) about a year ago. I put it on my son 11 whaler, no problems yet, but its brand new... I was thinking about getting a stainless prop for it... Took off the tiller and made it to fit the teleflex steering cable...
