Hi guys has any one put a 2001 merc 60hp on a 13 whaler ??

Ha! that sounds like suicide. That being said, I'm sure its been done. I think increasing horsepower is met with diminishing returns... the difference between 30 and 40 is much greater than 40 to 60 for this hull.

Classic or newer 130? If classic you are just wasting money. 13's do not go much faster between a 25 and a 50hp, they just handle loads better. The hull design is not for speed so like said above a major hp increase only returns a couple mph. I have a 40 on mine and it does about 37 and is out of control. I doubt a 60 would be able to do more than 40 just due to it being totally out of control.

Now with a 2000+ 130, I TRIED to get my friend to put my 60 Merc on his, that thing will fly.

thanks guys i am more interested in the ability to pull a tuber and a skier then top speed and the hull is a 1977

She'll pull alright but it might not do the transom good.
