Hello everyone. I just bought my first boat, a 1997 Boston Whaler OUTRAGE 20. I just moved to the Bahamas. I bought the boat in the States and will be bringing it here in two weeks. I am going to do some repairs on it before it comes back here with me.

I [seek advice] in adding trim tabs to this hull. I am not able to go check the boat until I get back to the States to see how access to the inside of the transom is for running tubes and wires for the tabs. My boat has the molded rear seats, storage, and the factory dive ladder. I am thinking of getting the [Bennett M120] tabs. Does anyone have any words of advice to help me out?

I have M120 fitted to my Outrage 210

Apart from Jims link also look at whalerparts.com for your wood locating diagrams and the OEM location for tabs on your boat

Regards
Steve

JimH, I had seen that particular write up, and although helpful, i was looking for information that might tell me if i drill through the transom to run the hydraulics what i should expect. will I drill into foam, will i hit the storage/seats, or is there empty space that i can run the wires?

SJUAE, that is a really helpful site that i had never seen. I have emailed BW for any pertinent documentation for the hull, and they sent me a wire color chart, and the wood locations but not this stuff.

Thank you both for the help

here is a picture, hopefully it works

So i bought and installed the Lenco Edgemount tabs and now i just have to wire them in. I just wanted to know if anyone had run wires through the transom of a newer whaler that does not have direct access to the bildge area where the wires need to be run.

Hi James. I have the same hull with trim tabs. If you e-mail me, I can take pics of my wiring and forward your way.
