I am thinking about buying a [2005] Nantucket ( AKA Outrage) located in [Florida]. Have [Boston Whaler] replaced the gas tanks on [the post-2005 production Nantucket] to accomodate ethanol? My current Montauk had a Pate fiberglass tank and it deteriorated from the ethanol. I finally figured out it was as simple as changing the tank to a plastic one. Since [a 2005 NANTUCKET] has a tank that is built-in, can the tank handle the ethanol? Should I just buy a 2007 or [newer] model to avoid any [problems with the fuel tank and ethanol]? Thanks
Greg

I would not be concerned, they used the plastic tank for this model. Same tank used for the current models of the 190 Outrage. To my knowledge, [Boston Whaler] never used fiberglass tanks as original equipment, only metal or plastic.

The tank is not fiberglass. I owned that boat model in an ethanol environmet. No [problems with the fuel tank and ethanol] whatsoever.

I do not believe that Boston Whaler ever used Pate Plastic fuel tanks in their boats. The internal fuel tanks in Boston Whaler boats which were made of plastic used some type of polyethylene material. As far as I know there is no concern for possible damage to the polyethylene fuel tank in a Boston Whaler boat from use of fuel containing a blend of gasoline and ethanol in a ratio of 9:1 or higher.
