I have some spare first generation Smartcraft gauges that I have been meaning to sell. My Outrage 25 earlier had twin 150s from 1999 or so, and was re-powered with 2006 ones that take newer gauges. The owner just disconnected the older gauges and I recently removed them. Send email to me and I can send you some pictures of what I have. They are multifunction gauges. They have four quadrants on the face that apparently each light up.
- top - fuel pump
- right - oil
- bottom - maybe a piston?
- left - temperature
I could probably even pull the wiring that runs back to the motor. They have a four-wire lead that comes off of them to the motors; it is a standard analog type lead and not like the newer Smartcraft digital cables.
That being said, you should be able to get analog gauges to work fine. I am using analog gauges currently with my 2006 motors without trouble, though I intend to switch to the newer Smartcraft at some point.
