Brian, I was thinking of doing the same thing with my Dauntless 16, can you post some pics of your sun lounge? Thanks! Tim |

Brian, I was checking out my owners manual/brochure last night and noticed that BW actually made a sun lounge for the Dauntless 16. From the brochure it looks like a section that fit behind the current bow cushion and goes back to the center council. Have you seen one of these before? Wonder if anyone has one on their current Dauntless 16. Tim |

I did price out the Sunlounge from Whaler (Sue - Twin Cities)...I think it was $1,200 just for the Starboard Filler.I ended buying a piece of furniture grade plywood from home depot, then had them cut it down....then I took a jig saw and cut the shape. I used a big piece of cardboard to make the template. I'm going to paint the wood white - total cost = $40.00. I got one bid on a big filler cushion for $400.00, so I I'm still shopping around. It's really a nice, big space in front of the center console on the Dauntless 16, so I would recommend it. I will post photos soon. |

Thanks for the update! That space is really nice and it would be great to have a larger sun lounge area. Thanks in advance for posting pictures, this is something I'd like to do.How far did you take your piece of plywood aft? Did you go down each side of the CC? Or stop in line with the cooler? Also how do you plan to hold the piece of plywood to the boat? I was thinking that you could cut a hole in the ply to wrap the cooler buckles through the wood to secure it. Also are you worried about having the ply damage the gelcoat? Are you padding the ply where it rubs on the gelcoat? Thanks!! Tim |
