I have a 1988 Montauk 17 and recently after a heavy rain I looked inside the anchor locker and noticed that part of the edge of [the sprue hole] or round area of foam visible inside the anchor locker was lifting up. When I push down on the edge a little bit of water squeezed out. This is not happening around the entire circumference of the foam. Most of the circumference is tightly adhered to the edge of the gel coated fiberglass and no water comes out when I press the edge. Now I am concerned that water will gradually get inside my hull through the lifted up edge of foam. I live in south Florida and it rains a lot here. I would like to nip this potential headache in the bud right now. Anyone ever seen this problem before? Any suggestions on how I can seal that circle of exposed foam to make sure no water gets in there? Thanks in advance for any help with this problem.
