Hello all. Does anyone have a procedure for linking and syncing a pair of 2004 OptiMax 150-HP engines? My throttles are sloppy and in dire need of some attention. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you asking about aligning and adjusting the throttle plates of your engine to operate in synchronism? Such a procedure should be covered in the service manual. It is always a good idea to invest in a service manual if you plan to service your engine yourself.

Have you considered upgrading to Digital Throttle and Shift (DTS)?

Electronic controls for twins is a must these days for the advantages of auto synchronization.

The cost-benefit ratio is less for single engines IMHO.

I wasn't aware that I was able to upgrade to digital controls. Do you have experience with this process. Who offered this package? Thanks.

Mercury offers DTS on certain Optimax models. It may only be available on the 3.0L V-6 models, but check with your Mercury dealership.
