I am in the process of restoring my first [Boston Whaler MONTAUK boat]. I have a few questions. I will give ya a quick overview of what I have done so far. http://i1297.photobucket.com/albums/ag39/Angler2184/17%20Montauk/IMAG0475_zps0873d5cb.jpg

After cleaning the interior, I decided to wetsand and polish the orignal gelcoat on the exterior.

The gelcoat on the interior was in much worse shape than the outside.

I decided that I would have to sand most of it off to remove the gelcoat cracks and prepare the surface for awlgrip.

What should I put on top of the exposed glass surface to fair? There are a few tiny pin holes that I plan on filling with WEST System and microballons. Should I coat the whole deck surface with the microballon filler or just use a high build primer? Also as you can see in the pictures I did not grind off all the old gelcoat. Would it make the fairing process easier if I did grind off all of it? Thanks for your help.
