I am following the work of Binkster and others and moving the rear thwart forward and up (higher in the boat to provide a more comfortable sitting position). I could easily move the aft rail (that supports the seat back) to the forward rail fitting. This would move the rear seat and console forward about 12”. Would that be too far forward? I plan to repower with a 30HP Etec (and maybe a jack plate) and custom fuel tank under the front thwart, with battery under the main thwart port side. Here is a crude mock up of just the rail position: http://s1337.beta.photobucket.com/user/ebwalk/library/whaler%2013 Thank you for your thoughts! |

If you go 12' your in new territory, literally, 6" is the norm and works well to improve the ride. rich |
