I have an offshore 27 from boston whaler which id like to equip with outriggers. My question is, which brand and model would work well with my layout? For Example the taco grand slam 370 is really sweet, but i dont think they will work well with my lay out. I see some pictures online, but i cant tell what model they have. |

We have the Taco Grand Slams on our hard top of the 23 Walkaround WhalerDrive and love them. I would think they should work on the hard top of the Offshore 27 too. If you would like good first hand knowledge I would try and contact Contender25 (Jason) from the site here. He had a 27 Offshore that really set up for offshore fishing was rigged with outriggers. He could let you know what worked and his first hand thoughts. He really fished the heck out of his from New England to the Bahamas and the Keys. http://www.classicseacraft.com/1994offshore27/index.html Email: |

I have gunel mounted Lee outriggers on my 16 foot whaler. And Lee T top mounted outriggers on my 22 outrage. I prefer the gunel mount they are easy to deploy and work mid lines or double lines with. They also require less drop back when trolling because the lines are closer to the water. |

Thanks for all the help. Its a great idea contacting Jason. Especially from the looks of his offshore 27. |
