I am replacing the fuel float/sender assembly on my Outrage 17. I measured 8" from top to bottom of the tank at the opening where the float assembly mounts to the tank. Can I just calibrate from 0-8" for full scale range on the sender and gauge? Is the tank symmetrical?

Thanks, Striper

I recently replaced the 34 gallon tank in my 1993 Outrage 17. Tank dimension was 7.25" top to bottom. The tank is not symmetrical. The top 4.625" is symmetrical, then the tank tapers to a V shape. I ordered a Centroid sending unit. Centroid can customize the sender for the odd tank shape, I did not opt for that however. What you can do is empty the tank as much as possible and then fill the tank in 2 gallon increments, noting the gauge reading. Bob
