What is the best way to mount an anchor on a bow pulpit? What are the advantages and disadvantages of having an anchor mounted like that?

I mount the anchor on the bow pulpit of my Outrage 21 all the time. The advantages are:
1. It's ready to drop any time I need, as in
case of emegency if my engine dies in
drift current I can anchor right away and
this is important to me.
2. Sometimes I fish in the bay for sturgeon
I anchor it on the muddy bottom, I pull up the anchor full of mud I just stick it out
on the bow pulpit instead of dragging the mud on board.

3. Keep the anchor on board takes space and
it seems to bounce around regardles of what, I don't like
the anchor bouncing in my anchor box.
Be careful when put on the bow pulpit, you
don't want your anchor accidently drop
when you are running or towing, I make
sure all my rope is inside my anchor box
and make sure the rope will not come out
when you are towing.
Tie the anchor down with a backup secure rope, and a heavy duty bungy core to tie it down to make
sure there is no freeplay.

This three year old thread was revived to ask a new question. Please begin a new thread for your 2004-era questions. Thanks.
