I had my 1989 15' GLS out on the weekend, and I had 5 adults and a dog on board, plus 13Gallons fuel. The 40 HP Mariner propelled us up to plane quickly, and we reached 22Knots (GPS). Pretty good for approx 850 lbs of weight.
Boat is stock, No doel fins or anything.

What size and pitch prop is your mariner swinging. I have the same boat with a 50 yamaha and I am having some rpm probs. It wont do any fsate than 26mph at 4100rpm WOT swinging a 10-15 prop.

Thanks

Not sure what the prop size is. Lightly loaded and trimmed just right, it gets to 5500RPM, and guessing 30knots. Will try and determine prop size and top GPS speed this weekend...
Is your Yamaha a 4 or 2 stroker?
