I own a 13 GlS powered with a 25 HP Honda 4-Stroke. Its not quite the combo you ask for but I think it may help you to know something about my experiences with this combination. The Honda engine has quite the same weight as the Yamaha. With the 25 HP 4-stroke the boat reaches a top speed of 20 mph with "light load". This means that it is fitted with two 24 litre outbord fuel tanks and two persons. With three persons it needs a little more time to plane but the top speed is nearly the same. As I know the yamaha engine has a power trim. That is one of the few things I miss on my Honda engine. I think it will give you the opportunity to "trim out" the higher engine weight.
Maybe a 30 or 40 HP engine means more fun, but the 25 HP 4-stroke is really a good choice.
I hope this information will help you a little.
Best wishes from Germany, Marc

Trimmed out you should be somewhere in the 30 mph range. Those Hondas are HEAVY.

I had a 15hp 4stroke Yamaha on a 13, and it would get up to 22mph, eventually, w/2 people(about 370lbs). The power tilt would only work above 2500rpm moving the engine in toward the transom; below 2500rpm it would trim in or out.
