I have a montauk that starts to porpoise at about 4300-4500 rpms. The boat had a doel fin attached when I bought the boat. Could this be the problem. Thanks in advance

Try trimming the motor down.

Porposing is generally caused by trimming the engine too far out. Next time when it starts, try bringing the engine in and see if it starts.

The Doel-Fin is designed to remove porposing. It should not cause the situation.
