Just curious, what is everyone running for props with 150 (OMC) hp motors. I'm running 14 1/2 X 19 SS, get about 5100 rpm WOT. I was wondering if a lighter pitch might be better for cruising and fishing. Most of my running is between 2700-3300 rpm. Would a 17 pitch be better both fuelwise and for engine longevity?

I think you've got the right all around prop for the 18 Outrage/150 OMC. If I recall correctly, the 150, both the looper and the older cross-flow, had a WOT RPM operating range between 4500 and 5500, with 150 hp rated at 5000. So if you're at 5100 RPM at WOT, I'd say that you're exactly where you want to be. I think that a 17 will be too short and would likely put the WOT RPM at 5300 under the same load. Fuel economy is likely to be lower with a 17 than a 19 and engine longevity is not going to be enhanced by switching from the 19 to the 17. Longevity is mostly a function of what RPMs the engine is ordinarily run. As I recall, between 2700 and 3300, the 150 is loafing and the 18 Outrage is moving along at a respectable 25 to 30 mph.
