I have a 1981 revenge 22 with a 175 merc (same year). I am looking to upgrade to a stainless prop. Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Kevin

now I have a 17 degree, three blade aluminum prop. My 22' revenge tops out at 35 mph @ 5400 rpm. I cruise at about 28mph @4400.
What do you think?

Not sure off hand what redline is on that year. But if 5500 then go with the 17" stainless. You wshould pick up a couple extra mphs and a very slight if any drop in rpms. Most shops will let you try it out. you ding, you buy though so be careful and if no good, remove immediately before you scuff it.

Basically 180, that is a big, heavy boat and a 175 is on the small side. There is no elixer for that. When repower time comes, step up to a 225 and that boat will come alive.
