Does anyone know how twin 90 yamahas perform on a 22' outrage? The boat is 1992 and has a rather large t-top.

Having owned a 22 Outrage w/ T-Top, I can say that I think it would be severely underpowered. Mine had Whaler Drive and a 250 Yamaha that pushed it @ 43 mph (gps) @ 5400 RPM. Another family member has a 22 with no T-Top or WD, and his 225 Un-Evenrude goes boarely 40 but that is with a hull beard :)

Goerge, My 22' with twin 88 SPL's Evinrudes runs about 40 gps, a little faster with ideal conditions. The Yamaha 90's are 3 cylinders as opposed to these 4 cyls.

I have a friend who had twin Yama 90's on a 1986 22 Outrage with a custom radar rack and radio box. I don't know the performance figures, but it ran and fished well. He recently repowered to twin 90 merc 4S's and loves the power and fuel economy (both improved). The weight is something he had to deal with by relocating batteries and bait tank, but he considers it a small price to pay. Most friends with 22's prefer a single 150 while another (speed demon) loves his Yamaha 250SWS Ox66. ABTW, another friend has an immaculate 22 with Super Console, Whaler Drive, and twin 115 ficht Evinrudes for sale. Any interest?

Sorry I haven't been around. Just added another deckhand ( Tyler) to my crew on
1/12/02. Might need a larger boat in a few years! You can call Erik @ 415-456-9055 and tell him Brian Kyono , the fireman from Hi's, referred you. I have seen the boat and it is CLEAN and really unique. Full width WhalerDrive, Galvanized Pacific trailer, new canvas, electronics, padded leaning post. Sorry, but it does not have the Super Console.
