At the moment my boat has a 200 (2.5lt.) hp Mercury, about eight years old. It drinks fuel like it was water, which here in Gibraltar is very expensive! Also the government here has decided that the best way to stop some people smuggleing, is to not let anyone own an engine bigger than 150 hp.(On a 19 foot boat) . So I have to repower, Im thinking of a 115 two stroke. Will this be ok with four adults and 250 litres of fuel? Its either that or a 90. I mostly fish, troll and occasionally ski.

I don't know of any government that can't out run > 150 h.p. with a 50 mm!

Drop to 150 hp fuel injected. Suzuki 4 stroke 140 hp just won't give you the push, and this is as high as they get in 4stroke without causing you legal problems.

What are they smuggling?

If fuel is an issue, get a fuel miserly 150 HP Merc Optimax. You will not have to re-rig for this engine. They are quite fast.
